1)
If I was an African slave who was offered the chance to fight, either with the British or American, I don’t know who I would choose. It would depend on where my loyalties lie, like if I had a family that would be disappointed if I fought with Britain/America. It could also depend on if they offered me anything worthwhile to me or the people I care about. If the war endangered my family in any way than I would not even fight in the war.

2)
Say I was a soldier at Valley Forge, I don’t know if my integrity would hold out enough to tie me to Valley Forge even IF my contract was up and I had the choice. I could want to finally have time with my family, to provide for and protect them. Maybe I’m a coward and I don’t want to fight anymore after I’ve seen all my friends fall. It’s a definite possibility.

(1)If I was an African slave I would fight for the Americans because I would later find freedom from slavery. I would also want to die an American because they will later in time fight for my freedom like the fought for theirs. The British were unfair and wanted to keep them under their control so they couldn’t be their own country.

(2) If I was a solider at Valley I would have returned home because I would want to be with my family. In addition I wouldn’t want to spend winter in a place I didn’t have to be in.

1. If you were an African slave who was offered the opportunity to fight in the American Revolution on the side of either the British or the Americans, which would you choose? Explain.

1 Ans. Well I do not want to fight either because I feel war is a wrong way to settle things. It’s just like the old saying “Two wrongs don’t make a right”. But, if I would have to choose if my country were in danger, I would choose the British. The only reason why I would choose the British, because I feel them fighting us (the Americans) is horrible. I would not want my own kind to get hurt. But I wouldn’t want the British to get hurt either. But I would still want to fight the British. Even though fighting is the worst thing to do.

2. If you were a soldier at Valley Forge during the harsh winter of 1777-1778, would you remain with your unit if your military commitment/enlistment ran out or would you return home? Explain.

2 Ans. I wouldn’t necessarily say I would want to go home. But I wouldn’t want to die either. So I would go home just so I can save my life. I wouldn’t want to spend my death on an empty stomach and with the flu. I would hate for that to happen. So I would go home.

1. If you were an African slave who was offered the opportunity to fight in the American Revolution on the side of either the British or the Americans, which would you choose? Explain

I would take the opportunity because it would give me freedom I would be on the Americans side because they won the revolutionary war already because the British surrendered to the Americans.

2. If you were a soldier at Valley Forge during the harsh winter of 1777-1778, would you remain with your unit if your military commitment/enlistment ran out or would you return home? Explain.

I would stay with my unit because I would have made a commitment to my unit and I would not want to let them down of to fail them. But there are also the downs because you could also die because it was so cold out then but I would still stay with my unit.

1. I would choose to be the American side because, even though I was a slave to an American, I would still fight for the right to live in the wonderful place that is the United States of America.
2. I would remain with my military commitment/enlistment unit if it ran out because if I didn’t, it would be like was betraying my country.

If I was an African slave I would fight for America, because maybe the Americans will realize that slaves are fighting for the same reason!

If I was a part of the raider crew, I would just attack the British unit, because the loyalists were just well loyal!

1. I would fight for the revolution because they might offer me freedom from slavery while the British will not.

2. Yes I would stay because I would like to serve my country to become a free country.

3. I would only go on raids against the British because the loyalists are still colonists.

1. I would fight for Americans because their concerns are perfectly normal and actually make sense.
2. I would remain a soldier because it would all end soon and we would be considered very brave and like lions.
3. I would attack only british troops because loyalists are still colonists, I would “deal” with them later.
